Alyssa Robb is one of those people who’s annoyingly good at everything. As well as being a talented photographer, she’s also good at cooking. Good at sewing. Probably good at colouring in between the lines, and well, she’s generally kinda just good at life.  The 26-year-old moved to Brooklyn four years ago, and since then has been shooting an all-sort of things in and around New York; from hi-falootin’ parties, to friends, bands and anything else that can be turned into either a pretty or interesting picture.

Through her lens, Robb often captures striking images of what would have otherwise been nondescript moments. She’s drawn to stuff around her, she says, “especially when it doesn’t make sense”. Recently Robb went on tour with indie darlings Band of Horses and Baltimore band Arbouretum, zig-zagging along the east coast of the US and documenting the behind-the-scenes moments as well as the shows. “I got to stand on the stage at Carnegie Hall,” Robb remembers. “When I looked out at the empty audience and imagined all the amazing people who had performed on that stage, I felt like couldn’t breathe.”

Currently Robb is working on, “a project of dioramas and people in nature and in their natural environments.  I’m making color prints of everything, and hope to have a solo show with them soon.”
