Craving a little sartorial eye-candy but enjoying the comfort of your own home, haven’t done the washing (or procrastinating on the bosses dime)? Here are a couple of Berlin based blogs to get your fashion on and while away the time. Obviously not an exhaustive list, they are still an insight into the wonderful world of Berlin street fashion. We recommend popping them in your ‘Other Stuff’ bookmark folder, right next to your astrological compatibility calculator, and getting comfy with a cuppa. Best part is, teeth-brushing, hair-doing and general bathing is optional. Gotta love the Internet.
Bored and Beautifulis a handy blog covering pretty much everything: fashion/ design/ music/ street scene/ art. An ambitious quantity of content, the posts aren’t quite as frequent as they could be, but there is an ample back catalogue to get your inspiration flowing. The tone of the site is pretty mild, which is a bit of a reprieve when it comes to the world of self-important fashion blogs. Berlin based and balancing the desperately sharp with some simply damn good design, Bored and Beautiful is a pleasant afternoon spent procrastinating over hot looks and “ooh… I want that one’s….” blog.styleserver.de
Next up on the fashiony blog roll is Lynn & Horst, a classy and discerning eye when it comes to bloggable content. Lynn & Horst is a nicely researched mix of hot-off the catwalk looks, re-posting of vintage or memorable campaigns from seasons gone by, and also the odd humorous post predominantly commemorating the glorious era of digital advertising – the 80s. High-end fashion and design are frequently posted and commented upon, which is a refreshing change from the same ol’ hipsters hanging shots or self-proclaimed trend setters deciding what can be ‘done’ or not for the greater populous. Having said that, it is a fashion blog, so avoid reading all of the comments as they get annoying. (Pot kettle black, much?!) lynnandhorst.blogspot.com
Stil in Berlin is more street shot in it’s style, and for a Berlin blog, it does tend to have quite a large contingent of looks from other cities. On closer inspection, it is increasingly apparent that Stil in Berlin may wish it was in fact in Copenhagen (arguably the pinnacle of genetic engineering and impossible style) but nonetheless provides a plethora of glorious looking fashionistas and interesting style initiatives (check out the Wet T contest). There is also a rather entertainingly ‘German‘ FAQ section about itself. stilinberlin.blogspot.com
Street Clash brings an air of competition to the arena of street fashion, facing off the World’s most stylish cities, feet shoulder width apart. In collaboration with Stil In Berlin, the sought-after look is a bit structured and immediate, but fabulously fashion. streetclash.blogspot.com
P.S possibly nothing to do with Berlin, but pretty good all the samehttp://theimpossiblecool.tumblr.com/
