Yep, the trees are doing a slow striptease and the temperature is dawdling its way towards the sub zeros. So long northern Summer and hallo Herbst!

Leaving the house was not really happening this week as I was feeling a little poorly, hence a temporary hiatus on the social/cultural outings. But as needs required and I had eaten the last shriveled nubbin of Turkish bread (with peanut butter and maple syrup – you may shudder, but surprisingly delicious), I had to venture forth for some hunting and gathering. It’s only a couple of blocks to the market but they’re a pretty diverse couple of blocks with most of your needs catered for (and a whole lot more beside). Face your slide show fears and accompany me on the ten minute stroll to my local Kreuzberg food purveyor. Really, it’s not far.
