The international art event, Design Festa vol.30 took place at Tokyo Big Sight for 2 days on October 24 & 25. Over 8,500 artists from all over the world attended!
Design Festa is a biannual International Art Event, started in 1994. With their 30th anniversary this year, it was open to all artists from all over the world to exhibit their creative talent freely. There were areas for 2600 booths, an Outdoor live-show stage, an Indoor stage, a Mini-theater Space and a Restaurant and Cafe/Bar Area, all for those two days filled with art, energy, excitement and discovery!
A jewelry brand Lanterna, opened a shop in the booth area, showcasing necklaces, earrings and rings with pop color variations. Besides shopping purchasable art at the booth area, you can enjoy viewing the process of making art pieces. There was a huge partition setup at the event and were several live paintings were performed. If you want to feel flesh air, there were outdoor shows throughout the day. One of the outdoor live shows was a percussion ensemble by CORE, a unique performance group, using marching percussion to create “drum core” rhythms. There were so many people doing so many things which they call ‘art’ and ‘design’! Indeed, Design Festa is a festival for all people who has creative ideas.
