Known as one of the leading Japanese pixel designers, TEN aka ten_do_ten has just released his new book entitled: “CALM & PUNK Book #1 ten_do_ten” and hosted an exhibition to celebrate the book launch last December.

After September 11, 2003, TEN started the website “ten_do” which updates a variety of pixel designs weekly. Currently there are over 10,000 mobile graphic images of the TEN designs that are pixel with sexy, domestic, kraftic, crazy-stoic and nimimax attitudes. The TEN design pixel is shown in a wide range of works including books, intervace of cellphones, CD covers, T-shirts, websites, etc.

One of his recent project was the first series of the original book released from CALM & PUNK Gallery last September. Designs featured in the book were selected from over 10,000 stock of designs uploaded daily on the TEN’s website. Shortly after the book release, TEN launched his new challenge to hold an exhibition “Female nude and picture book craft paintching!“, featuring female nudes designed and crafted in 10 pixels x 10 pixels format selected from the picture book. The exhibition is ten’s challenge to the typical relationship between “female nude” and “gallery” with his pixel “paintchiiiiing”!!!
