So Spoek….tell me a bit about yourself?
I’m an Ndebele prince, rapper, dancer, DJ, dreamer, illustrator and graphic artist. I live between Johannesburg and Malmö Sweden. I work as various art/music collectives…namely: MSHINI WAM, SWEAT.X, PLAYDOE, AND H.I.V.I.P.
Dylan Culhane has worked as editor for two of what I feel are South Africa’s most edgy, controversial, off-the-wall and inspirational mags – VICE (current role) and previously at One Small Seed magazine. Here is an interview with Dylan. He’s a guy with a permanent exhibition in his lounge, and I will say it again…take note of him, he’s already probably taken note of you. This is a report that comes with the intent to make your visions into a reality. And this is a guy who can help you realize it is possible. Enjoy.
So, in the realm of writing, you get ‘The Story’, and then you get the STORY behind the Story. You know. The Real Sh*t. The sh%t you won’t find on Google… until it is blogged.
AM Stereo is Mark Ackermann and Steffan Olivier. They are Cape Town based electro Producers and are currently in the process of writing Jack Parow’s (Pastiche type Afrikaans Rapper’s) second album.
This interview was conducted under much debauchery. It was scribbled in green highlighter on torn out lined paper and left on Steffan’s decks among scatterings of naughty leftovers. Loud background beats disrupted any attempts to concentrate on writing legit questions.
So The Curious Incident….Who are you?
We are The Curious Incident… without the dog, without the night time
How long have you guys known each other…..and how did it all begin?
The band formed in late 2009 when Kyle convinced Adrian to do this Curious thing properly. Then we got Josh. We like Josh. We had a drummer – great drummer. Less than great band member. Dead now. With a spoon. Hope it didn’t hurt too much.
