Working in a shop in Camden provides no end of entertainment. From street punch-ups, cross dressers and eccentric homeless people, to the crazy man who sits outside my shop every Thursday afternoon blaring out reggae from a ghetto blaster on his shoulder, there is never a dull moment.

The first thing that made Antanas Mockus famous in Colombia was his white ass.

It was October 28 of 1993, 500 students were whistling a speech he was giving as rector of National University. Antanas left the microphone, turned and dropped his pants, showing his pale back to the students. Once he gained their attention, he continued his speech. That same night, every Colombian knew Mockus and his political career had begun.

Some could say that previous New York MOOKS Reporter, Unemployed Lloyd is what you call a ”genius.” Genius in the sense that he has managed to get by for the past ten years, in one of the most expensive cities in the world, on little to no money. If you’ve ever been to New York City and seen the price of housing for anywhere remotely considered not in the sticks, you’ll realize that this in itself is a fine art.
