Whether you’re an obsessed motorbike fan, part time fan or never been a fan, I think we can all agree there’s something spectacular and frightening about watching a motorbike rider hurdle himself into a corner at over 300km per hour. Especially while clinging to a fancy looking two wheeled – motor driven – work of art. Maybe, it’s the ferocious roar of the engines as they weaving their way round the circuit, or perhaps it’s the thrill of imminent danger that the riders face on a daily basis. But for this Mooks reporter, it’s all about the racing atmosphere.
Every year around the same time, the picturesque Victorian peninsular of Phillip Island erupts to the ferocious sound of the Moto Grand Prix World Championships.

Born in New Zealand in 1901, Lye was largely self-educated and developed a life-long passion for motion, energy and the possibility of composing the two as an art form. At the turn of the century, his artwork not only contributed to a shift away from traditional art and helped bring about the rise of modern art, but he also pioneered new and innovative art forms that continue to inspire artists today.

The last of the UK’s summer music festivals has just wrapped up on the Isle of Wight. With 20,000 extra people than last year, the festival was in danger of losing its laidback family vibe. But despite the foot-traffic gnarls, the famous Bestival fancy dress spirit boomed with a craft tent and Oxfam store to soup up your space-themed outfit. Check out a random hodgepodge of shots including a double thumbs up from Dubstep wonderboy Reso, some of the craftiest kids in the UK, Crazy P, as many blonde dreads as you could possibly imagine and some sterling shoes.
