AM Stereo is Mark Ackermann and Steffan Olivier. They are Cape Town based electro Producers and are currently in the process of writing Jack Parow’s (Pastiche type Afrikaans Rapper’s) second album.

This interview was conducted under much debauchery. It was scribbled in green highlighter on torn out lined paper and left on Steffan’s decks among scatterings of naughty leftovers. Loud background beats disrupted any attempts to concentrate on writing legit questions.

Walk down 7th Avenue until you are smack bang in between 2nd and 1st streets in Brooklyn and you’ll stumble across the school P.S. 321. Weather permitting, all year round on both Saturday and Sunday, you’ll also find the sellers at the Park Slope Flea Market offering their range of clothing, furniture, records and other miscellaneous bric-a-brac in the school’s yard, amongst climbing frames and other playground favourites.

Strongly inspired by Japanese manga, Fantasista Utamaro creates works across several creative mediums including illustration, textile, graphic design and film production. Examples of Utamaro’s work include an illustration for Tokyo Bar in NY and manga works for mashcomix.

Growing up in the sun-drenched Karoo, amongst little cave crawlies and lanky desert birds that can’t fly, Chris Slabber sees Cape Town as a place of wonder and surprise. Like a kid in a theme park, everything is a joyride.  Aside from the “bergie” (homeless dude with a passion gap that is always drunk and shouting “Jou ma se POES” to his/her fellow bergies) waiting around each of Cape Town’s corner, is a world of opportunity and sensory indulgence.  Each day comes wrapped in potential.
