Last weekend, I managed to escape the smells and sounds of the big smoke and found myself in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, for Tallinn Music Week. In it’s second year, Tallin Music Week sees 6000 music fans, 100 artists and 107 international delegates descend on the city for three nights of music.

A theater as big as a city, this is Bogotá during the Festival Iberamericano de Teatro.

The festival was created in 1988 by Argentinian performer Fanny Mikey and Colombian Cultural Minister, Ramiro Osorio to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the founding of Bogotá.

Since it’s beginning, the FITB has become the most significant cultural event in Colombia and one of the most important theater festivals in the world. With the presence of theater groups from five continents, there is one main objective, the integration of Latin American art to the world.

Opened in Akihabara, Tokyo in March 2010, 3331 Arts Chiyoda is a multi-level art center that aims to “create a new art form”. Located in the former Chiyoda Rensei Junior High School, this ‘alternative art space for the 21st century’ offers a range of artistic and cultural activities, as well as a place to link Tokyo with it’s surrounding regions and other East Asian arts communities.

Some of you might remember that I reported about an exhibition of Japanese artist Hiroki Tsukuda, last fall. Hiroki Tsukuda is a Tokyo-based artist who creates a range of works, including drawings, paintings and 3D pieces. He is now exhibiting 100 new figure toys for his solo exhibition “4010 NIGHT TIME” at TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS. Here is an interview with the artist who revealed his new works for 4010 NIGHT TIME.
