Last weekend, I managed to escape the smells and sounds of the big smoke and found myself in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, for Tallinn Music Week. In it’s second year, Tallin Music Week sees 6000 music fans, 100 artists and 107 international delegates descend on the city for three nights of music.
So The Curious Incident….Who are you?
We are The Curious Incident… without the dog, without the night time
How long have you guys known each other…..and how did it all begin?
The band formed in late 2009 when Kyle convinced Adrian to do this Curious thing properly. Then we got Josh. We like Josh. We had a drummer – great drummer. Less than great band member. Dead now. With a spoon. Hope it didn’t hurt too much.

Let’s preface this MOOKS Report by saying this: Los Angeles producer Daedelus is the most humble, polite and all round chivalrous gentleman in the music biz. And Saturday night not only confirmed our suspicious, but cemented them. There he was, the headlining act, manning the merchandise stand for his relatively new imprint label Magical Properties, all dandy-clothed and armed with gracious smiles.
In the notoriously fickle music industry (and amongst what can be even more notoriously fickle music ‘fans’), it’s always exciting to see a deserving band start to receive recognition. This is currently happening to Twin Sister, whose music recently featured on the ‘holier-than-thou’ Pitchfork, which used phrases like “dreamily psychedelic and spacious”, to describe the Brooklyn-based quintet.
Whether you’re running frantically between stages, dancing your heart out in the Boiler Room, or getting completely wasted before the first act, Australia’s biggest music festival is an experience you won’t soon forget.
